ASAP Orders:
Turnaround for ASAP orders is completely dependent upon available
time constraints and delivery time.
Bulk Packaging:
The manner in which the catering is packaged is determined by how
it will be served to the passengers. If there is a flight attendant
or cabin attendant onboard the aircraft, the catering will most
likely be packaged in "bulk" and be assembled once airborne, with
the meal being served on fine china. In this instance, the catering
is placed in multipurpose oven tins or microwavable containers for
the applicable warming device and/or sealed in plastic containers
and bags.
Pre-plated
Presentations:
Pre-Plated meals are generally requested when the passenger count
is high and the catering order is complex. This allows the flight
attendant to serve all of the passengers at the same time and focus
on passenger service, rather than the assembly and presentation
of the catering.
Executive
trays:
Trays are popular and are used whenever there are several passengers
who will consume the same meal appropriately sized. Trays reduce
the amount of space needed to table the catering and allow that
space to be used by the passengers to work or enjoy the catering.
Silver trays are the most popular and typically serve 2-3 passengers.
This service is also available for individual presentations. Tray
service is not recommended on non-flight attended aircraft when
passenger count is high.
Box Meals:
Without a doubt, the box is the most popular style of packaging
due to its ability to hold a complete meal in separate compartments.
This packaging is the backbone of the industry and is used for the
primary meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) due to its compact
nature and the ability to completely separate items. Box meals can
have hot or cold compartments, and can deliver an excellent solution
to non-flight attended aircraft regardless of passenger load. Additionally,
they provide for quick clean up and minimize spillage - which can
be hard on your aircraft interior.
